Big Sky Tank Bag

The OBR ADV Gear Big Sky Tank Bag is our biggest tank bag, designed with larger ADV or Adventure touring bikes in mind (but will also fit Enduro and Mid-Size Dual Sport motorcycles). The Big Sky utilizes a unique detachable base panel that securely attaches to any Adventure or Dual Sport motorcycle using:

• two adjustable sub frame buckle straps at the rear of the bag
• one adjustable steer neck buckle strap at the front of the bag

Our quick release base panel allows you to easily remove the tank bag during ride breaks or at the end of the day when moto-camping without losing your strap settings. The rear of the bag has a built in carry handle that makes it even easier to take with you!

Note that the Big Sky uses the same mounting straps as the OBR High Basin and Switchback tank bags. This means that as your daily riding needs change, you can swap OBR tank bags with only minor strap re-adjustment!

A padded spacious main compartment is perfect for organizing items you need to keep close at hand such as cameras, first aid, and rain gear. A full coverage rain cover is also included with each Big Sky bag to protect your contents when one of those mid ride rain storms sneaks up on you. There are two smaller lid pockets that sit above the main pocket for storage of smaller items. The upper pocket has a clear top that is perfect for cell phones, maps, or trip documentation.

How does the rider access the gas cap with the Big Sky tank bag installed?

The Big Sky utilizes a single 3/4” strap that routes around your bikes steer tube, with  SRB Buckles that then clip into the Big Sky’s Base Panel. To access your fill cap you simply unclip these two buckles and roll the bag backwards. After refueling, reposition the bag, release a bit of tension from one of the buckles, re-clip and re-tension. You’re now ready to ride!
